Charity match raises £500 for Holme Tower

A CHARITY soccer match held at Jenner Park, Barry, raised the magnificent sum of more than £500 for Holme Tower, the Marie Curie Hospice, in Penarth.

The game was organised by the Change of Tenancy Department at the Vale Council in conjunction with members of Barry Dock Conservative Club, and provided plenty of entertainment with a 3-3 scoreline.

Thanks go to everyone who attended and the many contractors who donated raffle prizes for the after-match dance at the Barry Dock Cons Club.

One of the organisers, Mr M Stanton, who has unfortunately spent a considerable period in hospital, said: "I would like to thank Viv Waters, Glyn Davies, Haydn Griffiths, Elly Stanton and Yvonne Searle for all their hard work during my absence."
