Soccer friendly raises £700 for Ty Hafan hospice

AN INAUGURAL soccer friendly in support of the Ty Hafan Children's Hospice has raised just under £700.

Staged at Jenner Park, the charity match, which was played in a great spirit, involved teams from host club Barrry Town and the Vale of Glamorgan Council.

Barry Town, who fielded a near full-strength side, ran out comfortable winners by 10 goals to 2.

The organisers, who hope the charity match will become an annual event, expressed thanks to Morrisons for their support.
