Look ahead

MAY I through your newspaper, point out the fact that the Town Hall and Central Park was saved by people power.

Thanks should go out to Dilys Colbourne and the Barry Citizens' Action Group (BCAG) for fighting on behalf of the townspeople.

At last Barry's jewel in the crown will shine again but why did it take so long for the Vale of Glamorgan Council to listen to the people of Barry?

It is already starting to look much better just washed, and I am pleased work has already started on restoring the centrepiece.

So Dilys, on behalf of the people of Barry, can I thank you for all your hard work, which I am sure in the end we will appreciate.

It was such a shame the council let it deteriorate as far as it did.

Let's hope that this will be the catalyst to Barry's much needed regeneration.

I, for one, am looking forward to the end result. Richard Bertin, Willow Crescent, Barry.
