I HAVE just read in a news article that Plaid Cymru are childishly threatening to boycott this year's Mayor making ceremony in Barry because they claim, unbelievably, that it was a political stitch-up.
I am amazed at their immaturity and, as there are just three of them representing one Barry ward (Baruc), I am stunned at their bare-faced cheek in even asking to be considered for Mayor.
I am pleased that the Labour group stood by their guns.
After all, it is only a ceremonial position and in British politics power lies with the majority - that's democracy.
I appreciate that all groups should be able to make a nomination, which can be voted on and decided at the full council meeting.
But Plaid Cymru should start to grow up and act like responsible councillors.
Just because they hold the key to power on the Vale Council, it does not give them the right to act like spoiled children when they don't get their way when on the Town Council.
