Barry Town's high-profile chairman has begun his two week jungle ordeal on the hit ITV1 programme I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here!.
John Fashanu joined nine other celebrities deep in the Australian rainforest for a fortnight's diet of gruelling tasks and survival battles.
Fash was the first to take part in one of the many horrendous trials on Monday night. Elected as leader, the ex-Wimbledon FC star had to pour boxes of jungle insects down his pants.
Welsh weather girl Sian Lloyd, who is also a contestant, told the former Crazy Gang star: "Do it for Barry Town".
But even his love of the club, and his 16 years of martial arts training, did not prepare him for the eighth box.
Fash, who already had to conquer his fear of heights by walking across an 80ft bridge to the challenge, refused to fill his trousers with rats.
But although he failed to complete the challenge, he secured seven meals for his team and won much support back home.
Dragons' chief executive Kevin Green said: "John puts Barry on the map everywhere he goes and there is no doubt he will do the same in the jungle.
"John will carry on doing what he has been doing since he arrived here."
Last week, Fash told the News how he would use the programme to promote Barry Town FC at every opportunity.
He said: "I am looking forward to the challenge. I can't say too much about the show because of a confidentiality clause. But what I can say is that I will do all I can to push Barry Town Football Club."
Fash also spoke of how he would miss his home comforts, especially the football results, and he won't even know if Barry Town completed the 'treble' double - a feat they completed on Saturday whilst he was deep in the jungle.
n Cricketer Phil 'The Cat' Tufnell is the bookies favourite to be crowned King of the Jungle.
