'Superfamily' are all smiles

A PICTURE-perfect Barry family reached the top ten in a national competition to find new faces for a holiday brochure.

Travel agent Clare Williams' snapshot of herself, her husband Anton and children Ysobelle and Samuel came up trumps in the Thompson 'Model Superfamily' competition back in February

The 26-year-old from Lidmore Road told the News: "We had just come back from a family holiday in Gran Canaria when my work colleagues in Lunn Poly at Holton Road suggested I send some of my snaps in to the competition.

"I sent the pictures off way back in February, just after the half-term holidays, and I didn't think any more of it. It was a bolt out of the blue when I was called. Thompson invited all four of us to a top hotel in Windsor."

The family was put up in the four-star Marriott over the Easter weekend, all expenses paid.

They then had their picture professionally taken.

Ysobelle, three, and Samuel, two, along with Clare and Anton, whom she met when he popped in to book a holiday, were posed by photographers from the famous London studio, Creations.

Clare added: "I couldn't believe it. Even though we were not chosen as one of the top two winners, who had their family portraits done, won a family holiday and will become the new faces in the Thompson Superfamily brochure, we still had three days in Legoland.

The hotel accommodation and entrance fees to the attraction were all included. And we got to keep all the pictures taken by Creations which were used to decide the two winning families.

When I entered, I didn't know we would have such a fantastic reward for being runners-up."
