Can I say, through your newspaper, say a big thank you to a new animal centre who came to my rescue over the Easter weekend.
When my Mum was ill in hospital, I looked after her cat 'Fluffy'. He disappeared for five days then turned up in a terrible state - his fur on one side was standing away from his body for about three or four inches showing his flesh.
I phoned all the organisations who I thought would help but all these so-called animal lovers just passed me on to other departments.
Luckily, Safe House Unwanted Animals (SHUA) came to the rescue.
Within 15 minutes of my phone call on Wednesday, April 16, Jaqui was there with a cat trap, with very tempting tuna fish inside.
In about an hour Fluffy was safely inside and taken to "Sleepy Whiskers" at Hayes House, Sully. Jaqui and her friend Kay swiftly assessed and got Fluffy to a vet.
SHUA is a very new rescue centre so if anyone can support these very special people I for one would be very grateful.
Fluffy - now renamed Patty Paw, had a very happy Easter in her new home, as Jaqui and Kay have adopted her although. She is almost bald we're sure it will soon grow back but n the meantime her purring is making up for it.
Please don't turn you backs on your feline friends and I recommend you call SHUA on 07831 215 170 if you need help.
