ON A fine day at Jenner Park, Barry, Barry Wildcats entered two teams in the Junior Mixed Lacrosse Tourney run by the Welsh Lacrosse Association.
The U13 team drew one match and won their other two in the group stage, which put them into the final against Penarth.
In a close match Barry went down 3-1 despite a late rally in the game.
In the older age group Barry put up a spirited show only losing by one goal in one match and by two in another.
This was despite being depleted as some members of the club were playing for St. Cyres, School who also took part.
In all there were eight teams with over 90 players taking part. Director of development, Chris Wills, was delighted with the standard of play and the facilities at Jenner Park.
"I was particularly impressed with the support the Barry Wildcats had on the day and my thanks go to the club officials and parents who organised refreshments."
At the buffet that followed the tournament Barry Wildcats were presented with the Shield and medals for being the runners up in the inaugural junior mixed league that started in October.
Anyone interested in playing Lacrosse can contact Dave Jones for the Barry Wildcats on 02920 20512901.
The club meet once a week on a Friday.
