Sunshine is key to fun

BARRY traders are hoping for a bumper Easter bonanza as the town basks in the best Bank Holiday weather for decades.

From massive tourist attractions like Dyffryn Gardens to smaller businesses such as the ice-cream kiosk and gift shop on the island's promenade, owners are setting their sights high.

Project Manager at Dyffryn Gardens, Gerry Donovan, said: "We are hoping the good weather will stay with us.

At Dyffryn, we rely on our outside exhibitions.

Dyffryn is a lovely family event, and we have got a lot of children's activities to attract visitors, from Easter trails to Easter Bunnies.

We pin a lot of hope on this time of year."

Owner of the ice-cream kiosk and gift shop, Armando Armelin, added: "Good weather makes all the difference to trade.

The dry and bright conditions over the last couple of months have brought out thousands of visitors.

It's been a great start to the year - the best for some time.
