I WAS dismayed to read about the problems 'name and address supplied' had getting a reply from local councillors who appeared to hold a surgery at the Barry YMCA in Court Road 18 months ago.

I agree that 18 months is a long time to receive a letter or even a phone call from them.

The areas detailed in his or her letter detailed the excess speeding of cars along Holton Road and Weston Hill.

These areas are served by sitting Labour councillors - sitting being the operative word.

It is little wonder that there is disillusionment and voter apathy when the electorate are taken for granted.

Nobody has a divine right to be in a so-called safe seat.

If you don't want to do the work you were elected to do, then move over for somebody else more willing and able than you.

Please remember this when casting your vote at the Vale Council elections due next year.
