Road risk

LIVES OF man and beast are being put at risk unnecessarily by speeding.

This is particularly true of inconsiderate and abusive drivers travelling along country lanes within the Penarth, Dinas Powys and Sully areas.

A mechanical vehicle is an inanimate lump of metal which, when driven irresponsibly, is capable of killing or seriously injuring.

Any form of life cannot be replaced.

Drivers of this nature are under the impression that they are the only road users that should be on these lanes.

It would be a good idea if all driving schools were compelled to include instruction on driving along country lanes as at the moment one would think that a country lane is identical to the M4.

Members of the public should obtain vehicle registration numbers and report any acts of tail-gating, lunatic driving or "road rage" to the police, in order that details may be recorded on their computer system where they will remain indefinitely for future reference.
