Supportive

ON behalf of the Rhoose Village Preservation Group, I would like to thank John Smith MP, Jane Hutt AM, Leader of the Council Jeff James, Cllr Gordon Kemp, Tim Raine from the Welsh Development Agency, Tom Tippett from Coftons and all the residents of Rhoose who took the time to come at such short notice to the public meeting at the Rhoose Community Hall on Saturday night (March 8).

We discussed the various schemes that would see 1200 new houses built in Rhoose.

200 on the rare wildlife habitat of the West Quarry with 400 in Font-y-gary and 600 above Rhoose Point on green field sites.

The campaign to preserve and protect the remaining open spaces in Rhoose can now only be won through the efforts of the entire community.

We have only until the end of March to object.

For help in filling in the correct forms and letters, the RVPG has created a campaign website www.rhoose.org.uk and will be holding informal clinics until the deadline.

The council planning department will also be holding an afternoon clinic in the Community Hall on March 25.
