WILL you please allow a little space in our Barry & District News to record my strongest objection to the under handed "Dumming Down" of the name of our Memorial Hall in Barry?

Our councils were elected as our representatives and are reasonably well paid, so why oh why do they not sit up and take heed of our concerns?

One regular reader and highly valued ex-service woman, has politely asked the council to call our Memorial Hall by its well established name Mrs Joan Lake represents hundreds of our ex-service people - but our council persists in ignoring our requests so I again ask, why oh why are our citizens snubbed in this way?

The names of those men and boys who died in both world wars are being deliberately ignored - their memory still fresh in our minds.

Our splendid Memorial Hall must not be allowed to become just another mere memo, in some crummy office.
