BARRY 3, CAERSWS 2
WHILST all the media attention was on John Fashanu on the field Barry contrived once again to give a sub-standard performance.
Missing several good first half chances, they once again let the opposition back into the game and once again could have lost the game.
As on Saturday the away team fought back sensing Barry's defensive frailties and taking advantage of their inability to make the game safe.
Making one change from Saturday, Kenny Brown brought in Richard Kennedy for the injured Nathan Cotterill.
In an extraordinary repeat of Saturday's 3-2 verdict once again Barry got a second minute goal, the provider once again Lee Phillips, this time Jamie Moralee got the opening goal.
The visitors hit back and Sean Jehu had a great chance to equalise, but from close range missed Graham Evans's great cross. They were playing some neat football and Stephens hit a great drive straight at Andy Grainger.
Barry were having their fair share of chances and Jamie Moralee was the biggest culprit for not putting them away. His worst miss was a one on one with the keeper when the keeper went down, Moralee hit straight at him when he could have easily gone round him.
On 43 minutes Caersws equalised when Grainger dropped a long throw and Stephens put the mid-Wales side level.
It was 2-1 to Barry a minute later. Jon French sent over a great cross and Lawrence Davies rose well to head home.
Moralee again failed to hit the target from a cross by Dave Toomey early in the second half. On 54 minutes Graham Jones equalised running through a leaden footed Barry defence.
All the old gremlins arose, as Barry once again looked like shooting themselves in the foot.
As with Caernarfon on Saturday when the score was also 2-3, Caersws hit the bar through Sean Jehu.
The introduction of Jamie Jenkins for Ramasut proved to be an inspirational move, Jenkins out to prove a point.
His 73rd minute winner was a powerfully hit 25 yarder which threatened to burst the net. John Fashanu given some respite by the press, clapped the goal which was superb in execution. It was Jenkins first goal of the season and what a beauty it was.
Nicky Burke replaced Dave Toomey and Carl Brown came on for Moralee.
Barry were certainly buoyed by the goal and were beginning to dominate the game. Caersws were visibly tiring and saw little of the ball.
Barry were given a scare however when the visitors had a last minute corner. The vicious in-swinger completely fooled Grainger and only desperate defending saved the day for Barry.
Tomorrow (Friday) Barry make the long trip to Connah's Quay. They welcome back Scott Morgan after suspension. Barry have conceded seven goals in the last three games, no reflection on Andy York who has replaced Morgan over the three games. York has been excellent. The defensive errors have been general and certainly Barry are conceding far too many goals of late.
Now three points behind TNS, they have played two games more but are seven points ahead of third placed Bangor City.
