Ladies night

I AM appealing through your newspaper, as chairman of the Gibbonsdown Community Centre, to ask that women living within the Gibbonsdown & Treharne areas of Barry to come forward and form a Women's Forum at the centre, meeting possibly one night a week.

This group could consider and be of influence concerning women's right and issues, such as: equality, education, career support and family concerns, etc.

I am sure that the formation of such a group could help many who live in the area, who could use it as a platform to voice concerns.

The group could offer the opportunity for women to come and meet informally as a group, and get away from "The Women's Place is in The Home" and meet new friends.
