DVD Review: Vanilla Sky

DO NOT expect to completely understand this film the first time of watching it.

Vanilla Sky, starring Tom Cruise, Penelope Cruz and Kurt Russell, is a medley of dreamworld mixed confusingly with reality.

There is no doubt that the acting is good and the film well-constructed, but it will leave you guessing right up to the final moment.

The plot is intricate. You think you know what's going on, but you can't be too sure. Tom Cruise plays rich kid turned company director David Aames whose life seems to be finally finding a meaning when a split-second decision turns it all around.

He is falling in love for the first time with the woman of his dreams, Sophia (Penelope Cruz). But when a spurned lover takes revenge, David loses his grip on the real world.

This movie was slammed by critics, but hold off judgement until you see if for yourself. You could end up actually enjoying it.
