Stop decay

It is with much dismay that everytime I visit Barry and take a stroll around a few memorable places, I see yet further signs of decay.

The Knap was once a beautiful and thriving area, with a close-knit community and friendly feel.

While members of the community are still living there, I feel they must be struggling under the rising tide of concrete monstrosities 'gracing' the skyline.

The lake is clogged with the debris of neglect and I feel immensely sorry for those who have to return to the area daily - be it the swans who nest there or the people who have invested money and energy into their houses. Barry Dock is suffering much the same fate, with less building work being done in a place that needs it more.

It's time we stopped apportioning blame, and find a way to solve the decline of Barry.
