Pay danger

IMAGINE the scene: the Government surrenders to the Fire-fighters with their ridiculous 40 percent pay claim, then demands come flooding in from doctors, teachers, nurses and so on: where will this lead us?

Suddenly one union after another asks for a huge inflation busting pay rise - Just where it will take the country?

Would there be another "winter of discontent" which destroyed the last Labour Government in ,79, or, to be even more blunt, what would happen to the flourishing British economy?

Would it go into deep decline?

The reality is inflation would soar, forcing people to be laid off through closures, including some of the over-demanding fire-fighters.

Don't forget all the other disruption and mayhem that would come about - including the railways which could be closed, etc.

This is a grim reality but true, Thatcher may have wreaked havoc by making the unions virtually powerless, but now this all about to change with the rise of militants such as Gilchrist and company.

There can be no surrender to these people, or Britain will face economic ruin and we will all suffer!
