WITH a number of players returning from injury, suspension and educational commitments, Barry Youth returned to winning ways, with a hard fought victory, after a disappointing start to the season.
The Cardiff side started as favourites but were completely blown away by a resurgent away side.
The Barry pack laid the foundations from the start, displaying an intensity not seen previously this season and this gave a platform for the backs to display their far superior handling skills.
There was an early try from scrum half Geraint Manning, who crossed the line after a typical sniping run from the base of the scrum.
Barry went further ahead thanks to a long range penalty from captain, Ross Munro.
This seemed to settle the Barry players down and it was not long before they scored their second try. Superb pressure in defence resulted in an interception try for second row, Danny Williams, who sprinted 50 metres and outstripped the whole of the home side's back line, to score under the posts.
Barry dominated the second period, with nearly the whole 40 minutes being played in the opposition's half.
The forwards continued to have the upper hand and made a number of yards, thanks to a series of rolling mauls.
This dominance resulted in a superbly worked try for winger Lewis Hoart, who scored in the corner after a fine long pass from Gareth Osbourne.
The final try of the match came from centre, Gareth Osbourne, who scored after the home side wilted to mounting pressure on their line and this rounded off a fine performance
