The WRAC Band, which starts a 10-day recruiting drive in South Wales today is to make its headquarters at the RAF Station St Athan.
Playing for Barry Dock RAOB A Skittles team at the King William Hotel, Cadoxton, Albie Dunn broke the alley individual record of 35 for five rolls with 36.
Sapper Raymond Ahmed, aged 19, son of Mr and Mrs Raymond Ahmed of Holmes Street, Cadoxton, who is believed to be the youngest serviceman engaged on the preparation for the explosion of the first British atomic bomb on Monte Bello Island, off Western Australia, has sent his mother a vivid account of his experiences.
By kind permission of the board of directors a collection in aid of the Rhoose Road Accident Appeal Fund, made at the match between Llanelly and Barry at Jenner Park last Saturday, has yielded £36 13s 1d.

Not every boy has the chance to sing and perform with leading Welsh opera stars, but 11-year-old David Richard Williams has been chosen to take part in the Welsh National Opera Company's production of Billy Budd.
Visiting Barry this Saturday will be the foreign secretary, Dr David Owen.
Barry's prospective parliamentary candidate, Mr W M Barritt, and Mr J Greaves, the chairman of the constituency, were at the Liberal Assembly at Brighton.
The members of the development committee of the British Tourist Authority, led by Henry Marking, BTA's chairman, held its last meeting at Glamorgan (Rhoose) Airport.
On Tuesday week the Cadoxton WRVS Darby and Joan Club was entertained by Mrs Howard Davies and her party from Mount Pleasant Church.
On Sunday week the choir of the Copenhagen Concert Society gave a concert in Holton Road Baptist Church.
