Shocking

As a regular member of a local community club I feel so upset over a recent event I must write this because the incident has made me so poorly, I still cannot believe it happened.

During the Bingo session, we have raffle where a ticket is drawn out of a box. The lucky winner receives £40 if they have the bonus number of the Lotto on Wednesday and Saturday.

On Tuesday, September 12 I drew number 23 which was the Wednesday bonus ball. I am very elderly and frail and I wasn't well enough to attend the Thursday session. So when I went on the Sunday to claim my winnings the person in charge said: "Sorry I paid another person out." When I protested the reply was: "I can't ask for it back and we can't afford to pay out of the funds. It was a mistake and I'm sorry."

I cannot face attending the Bingo to sit among 'friends' and the committee who allowed this to happen. I am still very upset about the event and I am disappointed that no-one had the courage to speak up on my behalf.
