The Others

THE ELEGANT Nicole Kidman takes an excellent role as the confused and highly-strung Grace in this dark and flickering film.

The Others is a spectacular movie with an easy to follow plot. Throughout the whole film, the audience knows there is something not quite right, but cannot pin it down.

Grace is the mother of two young children with a potentially fatal allergy to light. Her children Ann and Nicholas cope with their condition by surviving in almost total darkness.

Her husband Charles has not returned from World War Two.

The family live in a huge house in Jersey and when the servants disappear over night, Grace is forced to take on three strangers to help her run her home. But shortly after their arrival, strange things start happening.

This movie keeps you glued to the screen and the 100 minutes fly by. There is no excess of violence or explicit language, ensuring The Others a 12 certificate. But don't be fooled into thinking it lacks punch. This is most definitely one to watch - but not alone!
