Progress

PROGRESS at long last! The clock on King Square is now going, chiming and it's showing the right time. It's not the promised upgrading of the Town Hall and Square, but it's a start.

A very nice job of renovating the retaining wall at Cadoxton Infants School and the replacement of the railings at both schools has just been completed.

Why wasn't work on the re-pointing of the school walls and replacement of the Junior School windows carried out in the summer break? Scaffolding erected nearly three weeks ago takes up most of the area used by children to play in. If the contractors are waiting for half-term before they start work, who is paying for the unused scaffolding? Last year I wrote about new housing developments being given Welsh street names and failure of the Council to comply with the directive on the use of both languages in all notices published by local authorities. Signs in the English language that need replacing with new should have the Welsh translation placed underneath.
