Well done

ON SUNDAY September 1, I was fortunate enough to take part in the first Cardiff Marathon in almost 20 years.

The course was quite tough in places, especially the seemingly never-ending eleven mile stretch along the A4232, but this, together with the blistering heat, did not deter the runners.

The camaraderie was fantastic and the support given by the many spectators further enhanced the atmosphere.

I would like to thank my family and friends who generously sponsored me and turned out to cheer me on the day.

Also to all those who gave me much needed support and encouragement during the four month's training, especially friend and coach, Janice Clement, and my fianc Neil who accompanied me on many of my training runs and stopped me getting too stressed out!
