DVD Review

Lord of the Rings

THIS long awaited adaptation of JRR Tolkien's classic fantasy novel 'Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring' has finally hit the high street.

Whether you have read the books or are coming to the tale fresh, you cannot fail to be impressed by the drama and special effects of this film.

Elijah Woods plays the main character Frodo Baggins and is supported by top names like Ian McKellen, Sean Astin, Christopher Lee and the beautiful Liv Tyler.

The feature lasts for nearly three hours, keeping the audience glued to their seats for the duration. The DVD on sale now comes with two CDs. The first is the film and the second has special features, including an exclusive 10-minute behind the scenes preview of the sequel 'Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers.' It also has the title track music video 'May It Be' from award-winning vocalist Enya.

'The Fellowship of the Rings' is rated PG, but some scenes may be a little scary for younger viewers.

This is definitely one for the collection. It will never date, never get boring and you're bound to find something you have missed every time you watch it.

And if you get impatient thankfully you only have to wait until Christmas to find out what happens next, when 'The Two Towers' explodes onto the big screen.
