THERE were excellent results again for two Barry and Vale Harriers who were selected to represent Wales in the Celtic Games which were held at Tullamore in Southern Ireland.
This international is held annually between teams from Northern Ireland, Southern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
Calvin McLaggon, the enormously talented sprinter took part in the 100 metres, 200 metres and the 4x100 metres relay.
In perfect conditions in the shorter sprint Calvin exploded from the blocks to win the gold medal and also scored a personal best time of 11.08 seconds.
Not satisfied, although it was now raining, he again recorded a personal best time of 22.4 seconds over the 200 metres to take first place and the gold medal.
To finish his day's work, he then helped the Welsh relay team to second place to win the silver medal.
Lisa Papura, Calvin's multi-talented team mate, selected for her first international, although not gaining a place in the individual events, ran in an invitation 100 metres where she registered third spot in a time of 12.8 seconds.
Later she competed in the 4x100 metres relay where she also assisted her team to second place and a silver medal.
Dominic Papura, who was selected to run for Great Britain Under-23 team in France, had to withdraw from the match as he injured himself in a 100 metre race in Gloucester the previous Saturday.
