A BARRY woman is taking on the dating scene with help from the BBC. Louise Edwards is a successful medical sales rep from Romilly Park Road.
At 32, she's got everything - a nice house, a beautiful gold BMW, a fantastic job, but no confidence with any man she fancies.
She told the News: "I watched one episode of BBC Two's Would Like To Meet. They helped a shy guy called Mike, and I thought perhaps they could help me."
Louise dropped the team an e-mail and was amazed when she had a call back.
She said: "I beat off thousands to get short-listed to the last 12. I think they chose me because of my added problem."
Louise is a single mum. Her 'son' is a seven-year-old dog called Blaze.
He is incredibly over-protective and chases off any man other than Louise's dad, Keith.
But thanks to the BBC, Blaze is having pet therapy.
Louise is delighted: "Blaze is learning to accept that his mummy has to see other people. He's calmed down already."
The team took Louise on a six-week course to transform her.
Body language expert Tracey Cox taught her how to walk and flirt, stylist Jay Hunt strips her of her 1980s power suit and persuades her to try out bright colours while confidence guru Jeremy shows her that conversation is a two-way thing.
Going steady Louise said: "It was great. The first date went OK, but I didn't fancy the guy. "Then I went out with some friends after the show and met a man I dated about a year ago, Gerard.
"He could immediately see the change in me, we now have far more in common and I've been seeing him for the last six weeks."
The programme is broadcast on BBC Two on Wednesday August 14 between 9.05pm and 10pm.
