Relaunch

WHILE I applaud the efforts of the committee to keep the Barry Carnival afloat, it must be said that the event is looking tired and jaded.

However, I do not think that it should be abandoned, but re-launched as a carnival weekend located at the Waterfront.

We could have angling and the more traditional based events as well, and the more traditional brass bands, and childrens competitions which made the carnival so popular.

We could once again generate the excitement and atmosphere made famous by the old carnivals particularly if we ended with a display of fireworks.
