Will beefs up for Ali role

IN THIS all-star cast Academy Award nominee Will Smith takes on the role of fast-talking, fast-moving Muhammad Ali.

The film looks at the turbulent life of Ali between 1964 and 1974.

Refusing to answer to his 'slave name' Cassius Clay, Ali takes on the US Army as a conscientious objector to the Vietnam War, ending up in the Supreme Court.

The fight scenes are excellently shot, giving the audience a true feeling of the impact and confusion caused by a well-thrown punch.

Will Smith (The Fresh Prince, Men In Black) put on muscles and built himself up physically to take on this part. For large chunks of the film he looks like Will Smith taking on the role of Ali, and represents him well.

From boxing fans to followers of the American civil rights movement this is a film well worth a look.
