A BARRY schoolgirl has pulled out all the stops to raise money for a toddler with cancer.
Bryher Davies, of Llys-y-Coed, baby-sits three-year-old Jamie Adamson of Churchfields.
Two months ago, Jamie was diagnosed with acute leukaemia. He has already undergone painful treatment and operations to save his young life.
Seeing Jamie so ill made Bryher, 16, leap into action.
She said: "His parents, Paul and Nicola, saw the incredible work of LATCH at Llandough Hospital. Paul started the ball rolling by having his head shaved.
"I've organised a concert in the Dow Corning Social Club on Friday."
Bryher's boyfriend, Andrew Field-Davies, from Cardiff, is in a band, and put the determined St Cyres pupil in touch with willing groups.
She said: "I called four, who were happy to help. Then I got a call from two more who heard about it and wanted in.
"I've had a great response and I'm hoping people will lend their support."
The club has helped by donating the venue free and raffle prizes have been donated by local businesses.
Bryher added: "It's only £5 and every penny will go to the charity to help all children with this life-threatening disease.
"It has taken two months to pull it together and my mum Ceri has been a huge help. "I'm hoping for a great night. There are even members of Jamie's family travelling down from Yorkshire."
The bands are from all over Barry and Cardiff, with a mixture of alternative music and rock. The concert kicks off at 7pm and will go on until midnight. Tickets are £5 and fancy dress is optional for anyone who wants to make a night of it.
Either turn up and pay on the door or call Bryher Davies on 01446 744223.
