No gloom

HOW heartening to see so many decorations and celebrations for the Queen's Golden Jubilee, and this in spite of the gloomy proclamations of the media at the beginning of the year.

And all, as could be expected, no council involvement from either the town or the Vale - not even a floral display in the Parade gardens en route to our "tourist paradise".

I am told that the improvements to the sunken gardens at the Knap are mainly due to the developers of Pebble Beach.
