The Gladstone Primary School rugby team has enjoyed a very successful season.
Undefeated in inter-school games they went on to win the Vale of Glamorgan Cup.
They then went on to represent the Vale in the Daily Post sponsored Welsh Schools Rugby Union 10-a-side Festival, this took place at the Brewery Field, home of Bridgend RFC.
Gladstone's strong pack ensured qualification from a very tough group which included winners from the Llanelli and Swansea schools' competition.
In the semi-final Gladstone were defeated by a very strong Twyn primary who were representing Aberavon. Twyn then went on to win the competition.
Shaun O'Connell and Ian Williams, teachers and coaches said: "The players were a credit to the school and all have a bright future in the game."
