Pool future

The future of the Knap Pool is of great importance for the people of Barry.

In days gone by it helped stabilise family life and could do the same again. Picnics at the pool while children safely exercised in the fresh air during holiday times was a boon for parents.

I am at a loss to understand while those in authority fail to see the advantages of having a swimming pool in our town especially as Dow Corning have offered to help out financially. This would be a feather in our cap since the closure of Cardiff's Empire Pool and be a great boost to morale generally. People would flock to use it.

Wake up, councillors, and listen to the voice of the people you supposedly represent.

Leisure facilities are important for mind, body and soul and should be given top priority.
