WE are glad to hear that at long last the King Square and Central Park are to be restored to their former glory, due mostly to the citizens of Barry. They deserve a big vote of thanks.

At long last the pride in Barry will be restored. Why was the most important part of Barry, the centre, allowed to decline over such a long period?

Barrians will always remember the pleasant structure of the Square, and the peaceful Central Park they were able to sit in. Let's hope a good job will be done this time, and not cut down on costs.

If possible, the old Victorian or Edwardian shelters should be restored as a priority in the development. This is where past senior citizens spent many happy hours.

We have seen an increase in our council taxes over the years. It will be nice to see, at long last, our money being put to good use.
