Time walk

IAN Botham walked from Machynlleth to Barry and Cardiff collecting a vast amount of money for a children's hospital for Wales - a very worthy cause.

My father did the same walk from what was his home town a hundred years ago looking for work. He not only found a job on the docks but met and married my mother who bore him three children: my brother, Hugh Pugh, who would be in his nineties if he was alive now, my sister Bronwen who is 89-years-old and myself, William Pugh. I am 86-years-old.

I think my father finished up richer than Ian Botham. My father knew David Lloyd George and David Lloyd George did know my father.
