A shopping trip to Holton Road on Saturday afternoon left me speechless, which as anyone who knows me will confirm, doesn't happen very often.
Desperate for the toilet I went into Dan Evans and sprinted up three flights of stairs, only to be greeted with a sign demanding 20p for entry!
How the shop can have the cheek to charge people for using the toilets is completely beyond comprehension. While there is the argument that it discourages vandals I would have thought that as a business they would want to do all he can to bring people into the store.
To expect people to pay when there are no other public toilets within at least half a mile of Holton Road is not only absurd but totally counteracts everything the council is trying to do to attract visitors to the area.
Who wants to come on a day trip to Barry if they have to pay to go to the toilet? (That's if they can find one!)
I suggest the store reverses the policy, or if they have to censor who goes in and out of the "ladies" can they at least find a less miserly way of doing so?
