Waterbus free trip

BARRY and District News readers can get a free trip across the bay, thanks to the Cardiff CATS waterbus service.

To celebrate the reintroduction of their restaurant shuttle service and their trips down the coast, they are offering readers one free return trip from Penarth Marina to Mermaid Quay on a Monday to Friday before the end of May.

All you have to do is go on a restaurant shuttle trip this Saturday and present the voucher featured in this week's Barry and District News.

The restaurant shuttle service on Cygnet leaves the Marina at 6pm, 7pm and 8pm on Saturday nights. It then leaves the Marina for the return journey at 9.45pm and 11.15pm, giving you chance to enjoy one of the many restaurants there, go bowling, watch a film or more.

The cost of a return ticket for the restaurant shuttle is £3.

Cardiff CATS have also reintroduced their trips down the coast on Friday nights. They leave the Marina at 6.30pm and then go to Mermaid Quay to pick up passengers at 7pm.

After that they will sail through the barrage locks and out into the channel, going round Flatholm or sailing near to Sully Island.

The two-hour cruises are aimed at adults, as children might get bored. Passengers can bring their own refreshments if they want, such as a bottle of wine. The cost per trip is £5.
