A BARRY football team have rounded off a hugely successful season with an added bonus. The Witchill FC have enjoyed wins in all sections of their club, and on Thursday May 2, they gratefully received a new kit from sponsors Severn Windows.
The Under-12's have lost only four matches in the last six seasons, and completed their busy league programme as unbeaten champions and the Under-10's are looking forward to having two new coaches for the new season.
Formed in 1998, the Witchill FC are going from strength to strength. In their first season, they were runners up in their league and their juniors were the cup winners. Then in 1999-2000, they won their league and took the Dockers Cup.
They continued their success in the next season with promotion to the Premier League and Invitation Cup Final.
All of this was achieved with the support of their sponsors, who include the Witchill pub, SRG Carpets, Barry Road Post Office, Barry Road Petrol Station, Down to the Wood, The Modern Tandoori, Around a Pound, Barry Fire Station and of course Severn Windows Ltd.
This season saw the formation of the Witchill B side in Division Two, hoping to follow the success of the firsts.
The club is planning to extend even further, and want all under-eights interested in being part of a new team to come forward in time for the next season. For more information, telephone the club secretary Richie Rogers on 01446 407161
