Our shame

I AM concerned with the state of disrepair in the whole area of Cold Knap. The Lido and boating lake were once the pride of the town of Barry.

During the 1950s in my teen years the whole area was a hugely popular place and during the summer months the swimming pool was always very busy, also the boating lake was full of people enjoying themselves in the rowing boats and canoes that were there during that period.

For a town that is trying to attract tourists to the area to allow such a state of general decay and disrepair to occur is beyond belief.

Of the many places around the world my wife and I have visited, this is one of the worst areas of neglect we have seen. The councillors in charge of all this neglect must be proud of themselves.
