Lido delight

After reading your article last week on the Knap, I just feel I have to express my views.

Not coming from Barry, but living in the area for the last 21 years, I remember vividly the utter delight on people's faces in the summer months just sitting and basking in the sun, chatting and laughing and generally just relaxing. The children were nowhere to be seen, except splashing around, just generally having fun, in what was then a beautiful pool.

I think it's a disgrace, and just goes to show what the Vale of Glamorgan Council stand for. Who do they think they are?

Why didn't they just come clean and say straight from the start that all they wanted to do is (once again) build on it some high rise flat's or luxury homes.

I'm a local hairdresser, and I'm sick of hearing the same thing. Everyone wants a local debate. It's our democratic right. I feel they should stand there and explain in front of the whole community and put it across to us to see if we understand the decision.
