Misleading

IN RESPONSE to Barry Shaw's (Barry & District News, March 28) recent comments concerning "squalor" in the Barry area - may I suggest that some of the information is misleading.

In respect of the repainting of garages in Dunlin Court, this has more to do with the Estate Improvement Scheme than campaigning by Richard Bertin.

It may interest readers to know that the "graffiti" in Dunlin Court was part of a Princes Trust Funded Project under the Youth Challenge programme, and not as implied done randomly.

All garage owners took an active part in the scheme including choosing designs.

Most residents on this estate fully support the idea of citizens taking pride in their environment and currently a "litter campaign" run by and for residents is in progress on the estate.
