REGARDING your article on Barry Town's regeneration programme (February 21) - how naive the Vale of Glamorgan Council spin doctors must think the people of Barry are.
We already have a multi storey car park in Court Road, plus two more in the centre of Holton Road.
The only plausible scheme that comes to mind is an atom bomb.
Then we could start from scratch, instead of waiting for more dilapidated buildings to collapse through old age, thus making way for even more car parks.
Could someone please tell the people of Barry what Holton Road has to offer? Apart from banks and building societies, very little indeed.
Obviously the regeneration of Barry appears to originate in the development of Barry Docks.
I fear that the development of the old Salvation Army site is nothing more than garage space for the white collar workers in the council offices and Job Centre.
If this is not the case, let the powers that be declare that council office workers will not be allowed to use the new car park, and that it will only be used by the visitors and general public. When I see that declaration, only then will I know that pigs can fly.
