I AM writing this letter with absolute dismay at the thought of Windsor Road United Reform Church being disposed of.

This grand old church provides a home for many functions in the area, and in many ways helps to keep the community image alive.

Windsor Road Church is part of our heritage in Barry - could not this building be listed?

The inside of the church has many beautiful items - wooden carved pews, stained glass windows and so on.

The elders of the congregation are very dedicated people and devote a lot of time to the Church. Nothing is too much trouble for them and everyone is made very welcome.

I understand there is some subsidence at the church - surely this could be corrected without a new church at the Waterfront?

Maybe WDA funds or lottery money could be made available.

However I do feel that this grand old church with its many happy memories for many people should not be disposed of without very much consideration of all the aspects and alternatives being thoroughly investigated first.
