RHAYADER 0, BARRY TOWN 3
BARRY took their run to eight unbeaten games to maintain their eight point lead at the top of the table.
Particularly pleasing was the fact this was their third consecutive clean sheet, as Barry again defended magnificently, giving few chances to lowly Rhayader.
As the champions continue their rich vein of form it seems they are on the way to another title. Only a huge dip in performance would see Kenny Brown's men slip up now.
This Saturday's fixture away to Bangor is a huge game and sure to attract a record crowd as the North Walians enjoy their most successful season for years.
The weather, so turbulent of late, may yet be a factor, but Barry will savour this game and will want it to go ahead.
Although Bangor are doing well, at one time leading the table, they have taken only 17 points from their last 11 games, while Barry's last 11 games have produced 27 points, and sparked their surge to the top of the table.
Last Saturday's game against the bottom club was played in freezing cold weather, the first half seeing hailstones and snow, and then finishing in bright sunshine.
For 25 minutes the sides slipped and slithered as they came to terms with the saturated surface, but it was Barry who gained the upper hand.
Home keeper Richard Morgan smartly smothered a Ramasut cross as Moralee closed in, and when Rhayader attacked Scott Morgan was felled by Steve Mardenborough who was booked for use of the elbow.
Flynn was the provider as Moralee scored his 22nd goal of the season to give Town a 1-0 interval lead.
Mike Flynn was full of running and a constant threat. His neat ball sent Toomey away and he placed the ball in the net to make it 2-0 after 42 minutes.
A Flynn free kick was superbly tipped away for a corner and Lloyd's cross was met by Ramasut who scored after 50 minutes to make it 3-0.
Barry brought on all three subs as the game was by now effectively won, and Town collected all three points.
Barry supporters leave for Bangor on Saturday at 8.30am whilst TNS are the visitors on Saturday, March 9 for the Welsh Cup quarter final tie.
Andrew York could be available for the TNS game whilst Lee Jarman is just about fit after a lengthy lay-off with an achilles tendon problem, and should be available for selection for the Bangor match.
