New football course for girls

TRAINED IN first aid and child protection, UEFA-qualified coaches are delivering a Barry-based girls' soccer course.

Following on from the recent success of the new girls' fun centre at Holm View Leisure Centre, the 10-week course will be run by the Football Association of Wales at the same venue on Wednesdays at 5pm until May 1.

The course offers opportunities to:-

Participate in football as an out of school activity, with the emphasis on technical skills and fun.

Meet and train with Welsh international players who will actively support the course.

Take part in individual monitoring and player development schemes with the opportunity to progress to the Regional Centre of Excellence for Girls.

Continue participation via junior club football. The cost of the course is £1.50 per week and payment for the 10-week block is requested in full.

Those interested are asked to book early to avoid disappointment as places are limited.
