Pollution

A STRETCH of stream between Llancarfan and Bonvilston is heavily polluted.

After enquiring with the 'Environment Agency,' it seems they are powerless to do anything about it. The stream was once full of small fish, and other types of water life. Now the stream is dead. Parts of the stream do not even contain algae.

This is not a rare occurrence in the Vale. Even the River Thaw that runs through Cowbridge to Aberthaw seems to be polluted along stretches.

Why then is nothing being done? The 'Environmental Agency' is quick to prosecute fishermen if they do not have licences when fishing in rivers and streams.

However, as for dumping of rubbish, or not preventing some farmer's polluting our streams - nothing is done.
