THE CADOXTON and Colcot Schools of Tae Kwon-Do recently travelled to Rhydefelin to attend a tournament for novices (first time fighters) at the same time taking the opportunity for inexperienced judges and referees to gain more experience.
Sonnie Eaton and Dayle McCarthy were referees representing the Cadoxton club, both showing promise for the future, with Dayle being voted the best referee on the day by all the junior referees and judges. The tournament was hailed a great success with all those who took part and spectators alike, especially as all who attended from both schools came away with a trophy.
Georgia Knight and Nathan Taylor were also successful in winning the patterns in the yellow and red belt sections. Eugene Sullivan was awarded fighter of the day by all of the referees and judges.
Beginner's classes are now starting at the Victoria Park Community Centre on Monday and Wednesday 6.30pm to 8pm.
Colcot Sports Centre on Tuesdays and Fridays 5.30pm to 7pm. For further information ring Ron Thomas on Barry 406372 or Alyson Williams on Barry 409228.
