Video/DVD Review The Mummy Returns

THE MUMMY RETURNS (12) is a brilliant action adventure which takes the audience back into Ancient Egypt.

As the follow-up to The Mummy, it again stars Brendan Fraser as protector of life Rick O'Connell, and Rachel Weisz as his new wife Evelyn. But this time they also have a son called Alex (Freddie Boath).

The film explodes into action when a chain of events sees the mummy Imhotep (Arnold Vosloo) resurrected at the British Museum. But even worse, another evil Egyptian force has also been woken from the dead - that of The Scorpion King (The Rock).

If Imhotep can defeat The Scorpion King, he can take over the world... and so it's up to the O'Connells to stop this from ever happening.

The Mummy Returns enjoys faultless special effects and is perfect for all adrenaline junkies. A great follow-up, even if a little similar to its predecessor.
