KENNY BROWN ANSWERS SUPPORTERS QUESTIONS
Q: Barry's general match fitness has been questioned. How do you see it? A: People could see the way we played against TNS for 90 minutes that fitness is not a problem, but one or two players' sharpness has been discussed.
Q: Barry's wing-back system has been criticised. Would the side be better playing 4-4-2? A: We have to play to our strengths and I personally don't like swapping and changing.
Q: Andy Yorke has not looked so comfortable on the left hand side of central defence? A: Andy and I are aware of that, but last season Yorke played there successfully for a whole season without a problem.
Q: Are the players fired up for every game considering we have already dropped precious points? A: This league is now stronger, and still Barry Town are the side to beat. We know that certain players need to raise their level of desire to win and be mentally prepared for every game.
Kenny Brown was keen to point out that the strength and depth of the squad is such that players are not under pressure for their places, because of the financial restrictions on the club.
"Some of the younger players are not quite ready to compete and challenge the established players", he said. "But I am aware that players, like young Lee Pratt, have enthusiasm and the desire to push on the first team door.
"Players must be aware mentally that they have to make personal preparations and to be disciplined and have the desire to win. I'm aware of the pressures that can fall on a manager and that all players are different. But I have confidence in the players and their ability.
"I'm hoping and believing that this defeat against Rhyl will actually kick start us, as did the defeat early on last season against Cwmbran. After that we went more than 20 games without defeat.
"We are looking forward to seeing supporters getting behind the players against Rhayader on Saturday."
