BARRY policewoman Charlotte Hobrough, has become the Vales youngest millionaire after scooping the jackpot in the reality TV programme Survivor.
Weeks of speculation ended last night when the glamorous detective constable unanimously beat off Essex airline worker Jackie Carey in a thrilling all-girl final.
Locals who have been following the fortunes of the former Barry and District News Carnival Queen, tuned in to see the result live on ITV. The seven-strong jury of past contestants described peoples favourite Charlotte, as brash, loud, bubbly, smart and an inspiration to others, before naming her the Ultimate Survivor.
Fighting back the tears, Charlotte, who plans to spend the cash on her dream of working with animals, said: Its unbelievable! I am speechless for the first time in my life!
Scooping the £1million bonanza has once again put Dinas Powys girl Charlotte, 25, under intense media pressure.
The former florist has already found herself under the spotlight following her highly-publicised affair with fellow contestant Adrian Bauckham. Speculation further intensified as the ex-Miss Cardiff announced recently she was taking a career break from the South Wales force.
Despite the pressure, the former Tae Kwon Do champion, who was sworn to secrecy by programme makers, kept tight-lipped. Her husband, hero copper Mark, also refused to comment.
But now the Rhoose couple, who it is believed have already splashed out on an upmarket Penarth flat, a brand-new jeep and presents for the family, can shout their triumph from the rooftops.
